In May 2014, The Prospects Board and the trustees of the Prospects Academies Trust reluctantly came to the decision that Prospects Academies Trust in its current form was not viable and that, with the support of the Department for Education, alternative governance arrangements for the six academies within the trust should be found.

This process is now complete; the final academies, Dean Academy and Gloucester Academy were transferred on 1 March and the trust is being wound up. The trustees were determined to ensure that the education of the students at the academies should not be interrupted and believe that this objective has been achieved. Prospects Academies Trust are grateful for the support of colleagues at the Department for Education and the Education Funding Agency during the transfer period.
